Canadian Space Agency

Canada's national space agency, established by an act that received royal assent on 10 May 1990 and took effect 14 December 1990, headquartered at the John H. Chapman Space Centre in Longueuil, Quebec. Best known for the Canadarm family of robotic manipulators: Canadarm flew on the Space Shuttle, and Canadarm2, Dextre and the Mobile Base System together make up the Mobile Servicing System on the International Space Station. In December 2012 astronaut Chris Hadfield became the first Canadian to command a spacecraft, taking charge of the ISS.
