Canadarm, formally the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System, is a robotic arm built by Spar Aerospace under contract to the Canadian Space Agency and flown aboard NASA Space Shuttle orbiters from 1981 to 2011. Operated jointly by NASA and Canadian astronauts, it deployed, captured and maneuvered payloads including satellites and space station components across ninety Shuttle missions, flying its final mission on STS-135 in July 2011.
