The multinational program governing the design, assembly and continuous crewed operation of the International Space Station, run jointly by NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, JAXA and the Canadian Space Agency under a complex set of legal, political and financial agreements among fifteen participating nations. Assembly began with the Russian Zarya module in November 1998, and the station has been continuously crewed since November 2000, with operations committed to at least the late 2020s.
