H-II Transfer Vehicle

The H-II Transfer Vehicle, also known by its nickname Kounotori, was a Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency uncrewed cargo spacecraft used to resupply the International Space Station between 2009 and 2020. Launched aboard Japan H-IIB rocket, it was capable of carrying both pressurized and unpressurized cargo to the station, including large exposed payloads such as scientific experiment platforms that could not fit inside other resupply vehicles of the era. Nine H-II Transfer Vehicles flew in total before the program ended, and its cargo delivery role was succeeded by the smaller HTV-X vehicle.
