Pyotr Klimuk is a Soviet cosmonaut who commanded three spaceflights during the 1970s, including missions to the Salyut 4 and Salyut 6 space stations. His final mission in 1978 carried the first Polish citizen, Miroslaw Hermaszewski, into space as part of the Interkosmos program. Klimuk later became director of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, overseeing cosmonaut selection and training for many years after his own flying career ended.
