Johnson Space Center

The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, known as JSC, is NASA center for human spaceflight in Houston, Texas, originally named the Manned Spacecraft Center and renamed to honor former president Lyndon B. Johnson by an act of the United States Senate on February 19, 1973. The facility spans 100 buildings on 1,620 acres in Clear Lake, houses NASA astronaut corps, trains astronauts from the United States and international partners, and contains the Christopher C. Kraft Jr. Mission Control Center, which has directed flight control for every NASA human spaceflight since Gemini 4 through the current Artemis missions. It is widely known by its radio call sign Houston.
