Israel Aerospace Industries, known as IAI, is Israel's major aerospace and aviation manufacturer, producing aerial and astronautic systems for both military and civilian use. The company is state-owned by the government of Israel and had 14,000 employees as of 2021. IAI designs, develops, produces and maintains civil aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, fighter aircraft, missiles, avionics and space-based systems. Its main focus is engineering, aviation and high-tech electronics, though it also manufactures military systems for ground and naval forces, with many of its products centered on the needs of the Israel Defense Forces and marketed to foreign militaries as well.
