Interstellar Technologies

Interstellar Technologies is a private Japanese aerospace company headquartered in Taiki, Hokkaido, that develops launch vehicles for commercial space transportation, aiming to become the first private company to develop a rocket that reaches space from Japan. The company was founded in 2013, building on a predecessor effort begun in 2003, and its MOMO sounding rocket became the first commercially developed Japanese rocket to reach the Karman line in 2019, on a suborbital flight carrying a 20 kilogram payload. Interstellar Technologies is also developing the orbital launch vehicles ZERO, planned for 2027, and the larger DECA, announced in January 2023, and it operates from the Taiki Multi-Purpose Aerospace Park alongside JAXA facilities. In January 2025 the company received a 44 million dollar investment from Woven by Toyota.
