Private Spaceflight Participants

Individuals who flew to space as self-funded, company-sponsored or specially selected participants outside any national astronaut corps, from the earliest paying space tourists on Soyuz to commercial crew and Teacher-in-Space participants. Belongs here: any spaceflight participant whose seat was not earned through selection into a national space agency's career astronaut corps, whatever their nationality. Does not belong here: a career astronaut selected and employed by a national space agency, grouped under that agency's own nation.
