VSS Unity

Suborbital Launch Vehicle

VSS Unity, registered N202VG and earlier called VSS Voyager, is a SpaceShipTwo-class suborbital rocket-powered crewed spaceplane that belonged to the Virgin Galactic fleet. It was the second SpaceShipTwo built and the first built by The Spaceship Company. It was rolled out on 19 February 2016 and made its first flight, a captive carry, on 8 September 2016. It first reached space as defined by the United States, above 50 miles or 80.5 km, on 13 December 2018 during the VP-03 mission, though it could not climb above the Karman line at 100 km, the boundary used by the FAI. Unity carried Richard Branson to space in 2021 and flew its first operational passenger flight on 29 June 2023. It was retired after its final powered flight on 8 June 2024, then returned to flight on 27 May 2026 with a training glide flight for crews of the next generation Delta-class vehicles.
