Mir

Mir was a Soviet, later Russian, space station that operated in low Earth orbit from 1986 to 2001. It was the first modular space station, serving as a microgravity research laboratory for experiments in biology, physics, and astronomy, and it was continuously occupied for twelve and a half of its fifteen-year lifespan by crews from multiple nations. It was initially operated by NPO Energia, later by the Russian Federal Space Agency.
