Bharatiya Antariksh Station

Space Station

Bharatiya Antariksh Station is a planned modular space station to be built by India and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation. The station is planned to weigh fifty two tonnes and to maintain an orbit of approximately four hundred kilometres above Earth, where astronauts could stay for three to six months at a time. Originally planned for completion by 2030, the program was later postponed to 2035 because of delays connected to the Gaganyaan crewed spaceflight program and to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. As of December 2023, the first module was expected to launch in 2028 aboard an LVM3 launch vehicle, with the remaining modules to follow by 2035 aboard India's planned Next Generation Launch Vehicle.
