Salyut Program

Space Station and Space Shuttle Programs

The world's first space station program, launched by the Soviet Union. It comprised four crewed civilian scientific stations and two crewed Almaz military reconnaissance stations flown under the Salyut name, running from 1971 to 1986 and succeeded by Mir.
