NPO Mashinostroyeniya is a Russian rocket design bureau based in the city of Reutov, near Moscow. During the Cold War the bureau was responsible for several major Soviet weapons systems, including the UR-100N intercontinental ballistic missile, and it also led the military Almaz space station program. NPO Mashinostroyeniya has also developed cruise missile systems including the P-70 Ametist and P-800 Oniks, and India is its second largest customer after Russia for these systems, including for the jointly developed BrahMos and BrahMos-II missiles.
