Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planetologie

The Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planetologie, known as IRAP, is a French laboratory of space astrophysics located in Toulouse. It was formerly known as the Centre d'Etude Spatiale des Rayonnements. The institute's main areas of investigation are space plasmas, planetology, the high energy universe, and the cold universe. It is jointly operated by CNRS and Toulouse's Paul Sabatier University, and opened on 1 January 2011.
