The National Space Development Agency of Japan, known as NASDA, was the national space agency of Japan, established on 1 October 1969 under the National Space Development Agency Law for peaceful purposes only. Working from the Space Development Program enacted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, NASDA was responsible for developing satellites and launch vehicles as well as launching and tracking them.
