Gherman Titov

Gherman Titov was a Soviet cosmonaut who became the second person to orbit the Earth, flying the Vostok 2 mission in August 1961, only months after Yuri Gagarins pioneering flight. His mission lasted more than a full day, making him the first person to spend an extended period in orbit and the first to sleep in space, and he also became the first person known to experience space motion sickness. At 25 years old at the time of his flight, Titov remains the youngest person ever to fly in space.
