Georgi Grechko

Georgi Grechko was a Soviet cosmonaut and engineer who flew three missions to Salyut space stations between 1975 and 1985, including the first long-duration crew to Salyut 6 in 1977 to 1978, a mission lasting nearly 96 days. During that mission he performed one of the earliest Soviet spacewalks to inspect and clear an obstruction from a docking mechanism, helping enable a later crew to dock safely with the station.
