A NASA space telescope launched in 2012, its name short for Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, carrying the first telescope capable of focusing high-energy X-rays rather than merely collecting them, achieved with a long deployable mast separating its mirrors from its detectors. It has been used to study black holes, supernova remnants and the high-energy Sun.
