An international observatory built around twin 8.1-meter telescopes, Gemini North on Mauna Kea in Hawaii and Gemini South on Cerro Pachon in Chile, giving continuous coverage of both hemispheres of the sky from a shared optical design. Funded by a partnership of countries including the United States, Canada, Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
