Chang'e 6 was the sixth robotic lunar exploration mission by the China National Space Administration and the second Chinese lunar sample return mission, launched May 3, 2024 from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center. It was the first lunar mission ever to retrieve samples from the far side of the Moon, collecting about 1,935 grams of far side material and returning it to Earth by parachute in Inner Mongolia on June 25, 2024, after a mission lasting about 53 days.
