Chang'e 2 is a Chinese uncrewed lunar probe launched by the China National Space Administration on October 1, 2010 as a follow up to Chang'e 1. After completing its lunar orbit mission, the probe departed for the Earth-Sun L2 Lagrangian point and then continued on an extended mission to the asteroid 4179 Toutatis, before contact was eventually lost in 2014 as its signal weakened with distance.
