Artemis II, launched by NASA on April 1, 2026, was a crewed flyby of the Moon and the only crewed flight beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972. The crew, Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency, splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean southwest of San Diego, California on April 11, 2026, where the U.S. Navy recovered them.
