Luna 24

Lunar Lander

Luna 24 was a robotic probe of the Soviet Union Luna programme and the twenty fourth mission of the Luna series of spacecraft. It was the third Soviet mission to return lunar soil samples to Earth, landing in Mare Crisium and bringing back about 170.1 grams of lunar material on August 22, 1976.
