Israeli Launch Vehicles

Launch vehicles of Israel, the Shavit family developed by Israel Aerospace Industries from ballistic missile technology to place the Ofeq reconnaissance satellites in orbit. Because of the small size of the country, Shavit is launched westward over the Mediterranean Sea from Palmachim Airbase. A rocket belongs here when its cited article calls it an Israeli launch vehicle. Members are placed here from their own cited sources, so a reader can check why an entry sits in this group. The grouping forms part of the browse path for this section of the atlas.
