TRAPPIST-1e is a rocky, close-to-Earth-sized exoplanet orbiting within the habitable zone of the ultra-cool red dwarf star TRAPPIST-1, about 40.7 light-years from Earth in the constellation Aquarius. It was found using the transit method, which measures the dimming of a star as a planet crosses in front of it.
