Caldwell 9, also known as the Cave Nebula or Sharpless 2-155, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus, associated with the young open cluster NGC 7380 nearby. It lies roughly 2,400 to 3,000 light-years from Earth and takes its popular name from dark dust lanes that carve a cave-like opening into its glowing hydrogen gas.
