Barry Wilmore

Barry Wilmore, known as Butch Wilmore, is an American former NASA astronaut and retired United States Navy test pilot who flew three spaceflights and spent a total of 464 days off Earth. He piloted a Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station in 2009 and served on Expedition 41/42, then in June 2024 flew as part of the first crewed test flight of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, the Boeing Crew Flight Test. Propulsion problems with the Starliner led NASA to keep him aboard the station for an extended stay, and he returned to Earth on a SpaceX Dragon capsule with the Crew-9 crew on March 18, 2025.
