Christina Koch is an American engineer and NASA astronaut who took part in the first all-female spacewalk, alongside fellow astronaut Jessica Meir, outside the International Space Station in October 2019. During her single long-duration mission she spent 328 consecutive days in space, at the time the longest single spaceflight ever completed by a woman, contributing data to research on the effects of extended spaceflight on the human body. Koch was later selected as a crew member for Artemis II, planned as the first crewed flight of NASAs Artemis program to travel around the Moon.
