The Turkish Space Agency, known as TUA, is a government agency for national aerospace research forming part of the space program of Turkey, formally established by a presidential decree on 13 December 2018 and headquartered in Ankara under the Ministry of Industry and Technology. With the establishment of TUA the prior Department for Aviation and Space Technologies at the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure was abolished, and TUA prepares strategic plans covering medium and long term goals, principles, objectives, performance measures and resource allocation for aerospace science and technology, working closely with the TUBITAK Space Technologies Research Institute and holding agreements with the space programs of Ukraine, Hungary and Kazakhstan while assessing membership in the European Space Agency since 2020. TUA is also a member of the Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization.
