Space Research Centre of Polish Academy of Sciences

The Space Research Centre, known as SRC or by the Polish name Centrum Badan Kosmicznych, is an interdisciplinary research institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, headquartered in Warsaw and established 29 September 1976, beginning operations in 1977. It is the dedicated institute of Poland for research into terrestrial space, the Solar System and Earth observation using space technology and satellite methods, and served as the de facto space agency of the country before the Polish Space Agency became fully operational in 2014. Since 1977 it has taken part in more than 50 space missions and developed more than 60 instruments for projects including the Cassini Huygens and Rosetta missions of ESA, alongside collaborations with NASA and ISRO.
