RTX Corporation is an American aerospace and defense conglomerate headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, and one of the largest manufacturers in its field by revenue and market value. It was formed in 2020 when the aerospace businesses of United Technologies Corporation merged with the Raytheon Company, and it carried the name Raytheon Technologies until it adopted the short form RTX in 2023. The company makes aircraft engines, avionics, aerostructures, guided missiles, air defense systems, drones and satellites, and it draws much of its income from contracts with the United States government. For the space atlas it matters as a legacy industrial group whose satellite and avionics work, and whose predecessor firms, sit behind many spacecraft and launch programs.
