The Mexican Space Agency, known by the Spanish initials AEM for Agencia Espacial Mexicana, is the national space agency of Mexico, established in July 2010 under the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation. It has no infrastructure of its own; its role is to promote and coordinate education, research and development for space related activities carried out elsewhere in the country. It succeeded the earlier Comision Nacional del Espacio Exterior, created by presidential decree in 1962 and dissolved in 1977.
