Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Science

The Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Science (LCRSSS) is Libya's governmental space agency, established in 1989 and headquartered in Tripoli. It is a state-run research organization dedicated to remote sensing, space science and earthquake studies, operating more than five research stations with a staff of roughly 300. As of 2008 the center carried an annual budget of about seven million euros, and its work centers on advancing scientific knowledge of remote sensing technologies, space research and seismic monitoring across Libya.
