Gilmour Space Technologies is a venture funded Australian aerospace company developing hybrid propellant rocket engines and associated technologies to support a low cost launch vehicle. Founded in 2012, the company aims to provide space launch services to the small satellite market using Australian built Eris orbital rockets launched from a private spaceport in North Queensland, and it also intends to offer a ride sharing service alongside a modular satellite bus platform called G-Sat. The maiden flight of Eris Block 1, unveiled by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as the first sovereign orbital rocket of Australia, took place on 30 July 2025 from Bowen Orbital Spaceport at Abbot Point, Bowen, resulting in failure after 14 seconds of flight.
