GalaxySpace

GalaxySpace, also known by its Chinese name Yinhe Aerospace, is a Chinese satellite manufacturer and operator established in 2016 by Xu Ming, a co-founder of the internet company Cheetah Mobile who moved into the commercial space sector, building low cost, high performance small satellites for a planned low Earth orbit broadband constellation. The company operates a satellite manufacturing facility in Nantong equipped to produce several hundred satellites a year and launched its first technology verification satellite, Yinhe-1, in January 2020 to test Q and V band and Ka band communication links, followed in March 2022 by six more satellites forming an experimental group called the Mini-spider constellation for further network testing. GalaxySpace core technology work includes flexible solar arrays, phased array user terminals and digital processing payloads aimed at bringing satellite broadband manufacturing costs down toward those of consumer electronics.
