Chang Guang Satellite Technology

Chang Guang Satellite Technology, commonly known as CGSTL, is a Chinese commercial remote sensing company established in December 2014 as a spin off from the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, a research institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and headquartered in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province. CGSTL was the first commercial remote sensing satellite company founded in China and operates the Jilin-1 constellation, the first self developed commercial remote sensing satellite system in the country, named after the province where the company is based. The first Jilin-1 satellites launched aboard a Long March 2D rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on October 7, 2015, and the constellation grew rapidly afterward, with the company reporting 117 satellites in orbit by early 2025 after 31 launches during 2024 alone.
