Axiom Space, Inc. is an American privately funded space infrastructure developer headquartered in Houston, Texas. It was founded in 2016 by Michael T. Suffredini and Kam Ghaffarian. The company flew its first mission in 2022, Axiom Mission 1, the first commercially crewed private spaceflight to the International Space Station, and it aims to own and operate a modular commercial space station in the late 2020s. Its staff includes astronauts Michael Lopez-Alegria, Peggy Whitson and Koichi Wakata, and the company plans further human spaceflights for government and commercial astronauts engaged in in-space research, manufacturing and exploration.
