Crew Module Atmospheric Re-entry Experiment

Suborbital Launch Vehicle

The Crew Module Atmospheric Re-entry Experiment, known as CARE, was an experimental test vehicle built for the Indian Space Research Organisation's future crewed orbital vehicle, Gaganyaan. It launched successfully on 18 December 2014 from the second launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, carried by an LVM3 rocket flying the mission designated LVM3 X CARE. The total cost of the mission was reported as 155 crore rupees, split between about 140 crore for the launch vehicle and about 15 crore for the CARE module itself.
