All Hot White and Blue-White Stars

Hot, luminous stars of spectral type A or B that look white or blue-white to the eye and are notable for an evolved state or for rapid rotation, such as Canopus, a white bright giant, and Achernar, a blue-white star that spins fast enough to bulge at its equator. A star belongs here when its cited article gives a spectral type of A or B and does not describe an ordinary main-sequence star of type A, which has a group of its own, a blue or yellow supergiant, which has another, or a cool red star. Red dwarfs and red giants and supergiants are grouped separately in this subcategory.
