Bellatrix

Bellatrix is the third-brightest star in the constellation Orion, positioned about 5 degrees west of the red supergiant Betelgeuse and carrying the Bayer designation Gamma Orionis. At a distance of only about 244.6 light-years it is the closest major star in Orion, and with a slightly variable magnitude near 1.6 it typically ranks as the 25th-brightest star in the night sky.
