Messier 92, also known as M92 or NGC 6341, is a globular cluster of stars in the constellation Hercules, discovered by the German astronomer Johann Elert Bode in 1777 and independently found by Charles Messier in 1781. It lies roughly 26,700 light-years from Earth and is among the brighter globular clusters in the northern sky, though it is often overlooked by observers because it shares its constellation with the more prominent Messier 13.
