Aerojet Rocketdyne was an American company, later a subsidiary of the defense company L3Harris, that manufactured rocket, hypersonic and electric propulsion systems for space, defense, civil and commercial applications. Aerojet traced its origins to the General Tire and Rubber Company, established in 1915, while Rocketdyne began as a division of North American Aviation in 1955. The two were merged as Aerojet Rocketdyne in 2013, and the combined company was acquired by L3Harris in July 2023 for 4.7 billion dollars. In 2026 L3Harris agreed to sell Aerojet Rocketdyne's Space Propulsion and Power Systems sector to AE Industrial Partners to be spun off under the name Rocketdyne.
