Outer Solar System and Giant Planet Probes gathers the space probes whose primary targets lie beyond the asteroid belt, among the giant planets, their moons, or the Kuiper Belt and interstellar space beyond. Exploration of this region has been conducted almost entirely by automated NASA spacecraft, beginning with Pioneer 10's arrival in the Jovian system in 1973; as of the mid-2020s, eight further missions have visited the vicinity of Jupiter and two more were en route, and nearly every mission to the outer Solar System has used a Jupiter flyby for a gravity assist, making Jupiter the most visited of the outer planets even though most of these encounters were flybys rather than orbital missions. Juno broke that pattern on 5 July 2016 by becoming only the second spacecraft ever to enter Jupiter's orbit. Members of this group include the Voyager and Pioneer flyby probes, Galileo and Juno at Jupiter, the Europa Clipper mission to Jupiter's moon Europa, and New Horizons on its journey toward the Kuiper Belt.
