SMART-1

Space Probe

SMART-1 was a European Space Agency satellite that orbited the Moon, launched on September 27, 2003, from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana. Its name stands for Small Missions for Advanced Research in Technology-1, part of a wider European Space Agency programme of the same name, and the spacecraft mission ended on September 3, 2006, when it was deliberately crashed into the lunar surface.
