Human Systems Integration Division

The Human Systems Integration Division is a NASA component made up of offices and laboratories that apply human factors research to aerospace operations, studying human performance and human-automation interaction to improve the safety and effectiveness of missions. Its work spans improving aviation safety through human centered design, developing systems that let human operators work effectively alongside autonomous technology, and building the understanding of astronaut capability needed for deep space exploration.
