Heliophysics Science Division

Space Agencies of Northern America

The Heliophysics Science Division is part of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, conducting research on the Sun, its extended heliosphere and the interactions of Earth and other bodies with that environment, including Earth's upper atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetosphere. Its scientists develop spacecraft missions, instruments and data systems, analyze heliophysical data against simulations and models, and run education and outreach programs. The division is organized into four laboratories: Solar Physics, Heliospheric Physics, Geospace Physics, and Space Weather, the last of which operates the Community Coordinated Modeling Center.
