The NASA Alumni League is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986 for former employees of NASA, its predecessor the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Operating independently of NASA and the federal government, it aims to support the country's space programs through technical expertise, educational outreach and financial contributions to STEM organizations, and its chapters organize scholarships, grants, tours of NASA centers and technical publications for members and the wider community.
