INVAP

INVAP is an Argentine technology corporation headquartered in San Carlos de Bariloche, established on September 1, 1976 as an offshoot of the Argentine Atomic Energy Commission research division, its name drawn from the Spanish phrase investigacion aplicada, meaning applied research. The company is wholly owned by the government of Rio Negro Province, employs around 1,700 people, and provides design, integration, construction and delivery of equipment, plants and devices across the nuclear energy, aerospace, communications and defense sectors, with a presence spanning North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. In 2018 INVAP won the Diamond Konex Award, recognizing it as the most significant business enterprise in Argentina, and it holds the distinction of being the first Latin American firm certified by NASA to supply space technologies.
