Alba Orbital

Alba Orbital is a Scottish aerospace company founded on October 5, 2012 by Tom Walkinshaw that designs and manufactures PocketQube satellites and satellite deployers, headquartered in Glasgow. The company has developed the Unicorn-1 demonstration satellite and the Unicorn-2 Earth observation satellite, acts as a launch broker partnering with providers including SpaceX and Rocket Lab, and has conducted more than a dozen Alba Cluster deployment missions carrying payloads from universities and companies worldwide since December 2019. Alba Orbital took part in the Y Combinator startup accelerator in 2021, raising 3.4 million dollars, and began releasing Earth observation imagery from its Unicorn-2 constellation in 2025.
